The actress and her family have lived in the northern state of Kano all their lives, they even have businesses there but because of insecurity in the north, and especially after the multiple bomb blasts last week, which I hear came close to home, the actress has decided to relocate her family.
In April 2011, the building harboring Halima and her mother’s bakery and restaurant, Godiya Confectioneries, was burned down during the riot that engulfed some parts of the north after the April 2011 elections.
Kano, Nigeria’s largest city has been under attack of dreaded Boko Haram members with bomb blasts. Just two weeks ago, the city was hit with the deadliest bomb explosion ever with over 160 recorded dead.
